Aug 2011 • Couples. It is a very easy crossing, just 20 minutes across the bay from Cannes to the Ile Sainte Marguerite, and it is a wonderful excursion. Most of the island is covered by pinewoods and there are no cycle paths, so you can't take a bike over to the island, and you have to go everywhere on foot.

I have been to the Iles de Lerins a few times. It is a great way to get out on the water for not too much money. There are two islands, Ile St Margarite and Ile St Honorat. I prefer St Margarite. There is a wonderful museum and prison cells to explore. Apparantly the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned on this island.
